Massage Therapist

Shift: flexibleSummary: Provides professional health education, with emphasis on stress management and massage therapy, for the community and industry as needed. Provides massage therapy for clients. Assesses health needs of clients through screening, surveys, and client requests. Plans, coordinates, implements, and evaluates educational programs, and special events based on assessed needs. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the ages of clients served, and ability to provide care according to departmental policies/procedures. Performs other related duties as deemed competent.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: Education: Graduate of an accredited therapeutic massage program. Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred; minimum of 500 hours of education in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. Experience: Minimum of three years experience in the field License: NC License in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork; member of American Massage Therapy Association; current NC driver's license required Other: Knowledge of therapeutic massage principles and procedures as well as all subject matter taught; thorough knowledge of child/adult education principles/procedures; excellent verbal/written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Able to sit/stand/walk for extended periods of time; able to perform therapeutic massage techniques which demands varying levels of physical strength; requires good hand coordination/strength; requires range of body motion including handling/lifting of boxes, display materials; driving is required; requires bending, twisting, squatting, kneeling, talking, hearing and vision to normal range.
