Manager-Nurse Coordinator

Shft: DaysJob Description:Works collaboratively to develop plans, goals, and implementation strategies in support of the Alegent Mission, Vision, and business objectives.Provides support, interacts, and serves as a clinical resource to patient care staff. Maintains clinical competency. Functions as a resource for policy and procedure interpretation. Utilizes age appropriate patient care interventions.Assures appropriate level of understanding, awareness and compliance with all applicable JCAHO, federal, state and agency laws, regulations, guidelines and professional standards.Along with department operations director, charge nurses and staff, coordinates work efforts on a daily basis.Conducts interviews of applicants and makes recommendations for hire; coaches employees on performance issues.Works collaboratively to assure appropriate management practices, maintenance of appropriate staffing levels competency assessment, staff orientation, ongoing education and development in all areas of responsibility.Refers appropriate cases to Risk Manager.Provides input to employee performance appraisals relative to established standards.Experience
A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in Nursing required, with one year supervisory experience in a healthcare environment preferred.Educational/ Licensure:
RN License required in Nebraska or Iowa, Nebraska and Iowa are compact states so license must be obtained in the state you reside. BLS Certification required, ACLS preferred. A minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Nursing, or related field is required (any equivalent combination of education and/or experience will be considered).
