Primary Function/Goal (of position)
Develop Global HEOR Strategic Publication Plans and execute on key publication projects including high quality journal manuscripts, abstracts and presentation materials for key national and international conferences, reimbursement dossiers for US and international markets suitable for submission to the major government and third party payer groups. Interact with Abbott authors/reviewers/ approvers and external authors on project content. Develop project and process improvements for publishing projects.
Major Responsibilities
1. Develop strategic and tactical Global HEOR publication plans for major markets around the world.
2. Develop and edit the content of scientific HEOR abstracts, posters, manuscripts, dossiers
supportive of business and scientific objectives, in collaboration with Global HEOR professionals.
3. Interact with Abbott authors/reviewers/approvers and external authors on project content.
4. Partner with Global HEOR professionals on the expertise, costs, and selection of non-Abbott HEOR writers and external vendors/agencies. Manage the work completed by non-Abbott HEOR writers and external vendors/agencies.
5. Establish and maintain cooperative business relationships with affiliates, key opinion leaders, and product team members.
6. Maintain current awareness of Abbott's therapeutic areas of interest and develop knowledge of Abbott products in support of publication activities.
Develop publication plans. Publication writing and project coordination responsibilities for scientific abstracts, posters, manuscripts, dossiers for multiple products. Incorporate HEOR data interpretation, publication messaging, and statistical data analysis into projects, in consultation with HEOR professionals and/or statistician.
Manage and coordinate the execution of publication plans.
Interact with Abbott authors/reviewers/approvers and external authors on project content.
Involved in the development of Global HEOR plans. Propose project and process improvements to Global HEOR management.
Evaluate HEOR data and business needs, identify opportunities and risks, and elevate decisions to Global HEOR management.
Maintain thorough knowledge of product data, literature, labeling, marketing objectives, and key product issues. Maintain current records of publication-related information.
Is knowledgeable about the product/disease states and HEOR publishing.
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years HEOR Publications Planning, Managing and Writing Experience and/or other relevant experience.
Pharmaceutical or related industry experience with knowledge of drug development and commercialization process in US and in international markets.
Ability to understand HEOR data and strategic messaging concepts required.
Internet navigation proficiencies essential. Knowledge of multiple disease states and biostatistics preferable.

Develop scientific materials with medical data interpretation, publication messaging, and statistical data analysis provided by Global HEOR professionals.
Communication Skills - Speak and write concisely, clearly, and objectively, and with grammatical accuracy. Choose the appropriate communication vehicle for the audience.
Technical/Therapeutic Area Knowledge - Learn technical topics quickly. Is capable of promptly understanding therapeutic areas and products. Can easily learn new skills and knowledge.
Advanced degree in Health Services Research or in Life Science.
