This position is responsible for supporting the practice as a medical assistant, with overall responsibility for maintaining efficiency of patient flow. Will greet all patients in an appropriate manner, take vital signs, assist with routine and complex procedures, perform phlebotomy and EKG as needed, and assist in determining reason for patient visit. Will be responsible for answering practice phones and scheduling appointments and assisting with administrative work. Will assist with patient education and couseling and perform various testing and screenings. Will also be responsible for maintaining patient rooms, setting up ans stocking as appropriate and ordering and tracking supplies for the practice.
REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or equivalent. Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant Certification program (or demonstrated knowledge of competencies required to perform essential functions of position.) 1-2 years of prior clinical experience, preferably in an Ambulatory setting required. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills are required. Strong clinical and judgement skills are essential. Good organizational skills are required to prioritize tasks effectively. Ability to work successfully as a team player. Demonstrated knowledge of varied medical procedures, such as phlebotomy, EKG's, vital signs, etc.
