Shft: DaysJob Description:Contributes to the Alegent Mission through living the commitments to provide a higher standard of care. Assists in planning individualized age appropriate patient care through an interdisciplinary team approach and through interdisciplinary patient care conference. Assists with ongoing patient assessments, and re-evaluation of patient problems or needs. Implements age appropriate nursing interventions that are consistent with plan of care. Administers medications and treatments according to nursing policy. Evaluates patient care effectiveness to assure that patient care standards are consistently followed. Collaborates with the RN in modifications of the plan of care according to age appropriate nursing policy. Responds to patient calls, anticipates patient needs, and assures patient safety and comfort through regular rounds, environmental maintenance, and other appropriate safety measures. Establishes and maintains professional interpersonal relationships with patients, visitors, and other hospital personnel while assuring confidentiality of patient information.Education &/or Licensure: Completion of a Licensed Practical Nurse Training program.
Completion of approved LPN-C (Expanded Intravenous Therapy) Course.
Must have a Current LPN License in Nebraska or Iowa, Nebraska and Iowa are compact states, so license must be held in the state of your residence.
Must have a Current LPN-C License in Nebraska, or must provide proof of completion of the Expanded Intravenous Therapy Course to provide IV therapy in Iowa.
BLS (Basic Life Support) provider or course completed within three months of hire.Experience Required: None. Preferred: One to two years of LPN experience in a hospital or skilled care facility.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Job requires continuous use of reading skills and verbal communication skills. Job requires frequent use of written communication skills. Job requires individual and group interactions, time management, critical thinking skills and stress management. Incumbents must possess knowledge of how to provide care to a diverse population of patients and the ability to communicate and work with people from a variety of age groups, social strata and ethnic backgrounds.
