Under supervision gives direct and indirect patient care as assigned. OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens I. May be required, as appropriate, to drive either a CHRISTUS fleet vehicle or personal vehicle to attend educational meetings or perform other business related functions on behalf of CHRISTUS Jasper Memorial Hospital. Policies and procedures as outlined in the CJMH Fleet Safety Guidelines will be followed. Practical nurses who care for laboring patients are expected to successfully complete a course certifying competency in interpreting electronic fetal monitor strips. REQUIREMENTS
Work Experience: One year experience as Licensed Vocational Nurse preferred.
2.Technical Training: Current CPR certification within 90 days of employment. IV Therapy course preferred.E.Physical and Mental Requirements: Duties of the position require extended periods of standing and walking. Bending, stooping, twisting, reaching and lifting up to 50 pounds. Occasional heavy lifting when moving or supporting patients who may suddenly become weak or helpless.
