Instrument and Electrical Technician

Purpose: INSTRUMENT AND ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN: The person we are looking for will be able to provide necessary technical and hands on support to continuously improve plant instrument/electrical and DCS equipment integrity, reliability, cost and on stream factor.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES AND SPECIFIC DUTIES:

-Participate actively in department/plant safety programs. Promote safety rules and regulations
-Investigate equipment failures, determine root cause of failure, and recommend appropriate solutions to reduce reoccurrence of/or eliminate cause of failure.
-Recommend and specify alterations and revisions to improve equipment requirement and/or system reliability/capacity.
-Provide hands on support as required to resolve Instrument/Electrical field problems as they occur.
-Assist in the development, implementation, and periodic review of preventative/predictive maintenance programs to reduce unplanned shutdowns and improve overall plant on stream capability.
-Keep abreast of and evaluate new methodologies, work practices, equipment, instrumentation, controls, technology, etc., for application and use within the plant.
-Participate in the planning and execution of minor and major shutdowns. Provide technical and hands on support as required during shutdowns.
-Maintain an error free execution. Pay very close attention to details and executes work to the highest possible standard. Apply a Continuous Improvement philosophy to daily work.
-Assist in the development and ongoing improvement of the plant mechanical integrity program.

Assist in contractor selection for instrument/electrical work and guide and oversee the contractors.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

Five (5) years minimum maintenance instrument & electrical experience in a petrochemical or manufacturing environment. Two-year Associate degree in Electrical/Instrumentation discipline or High School diploma followed by apprenticeship training or Military experience relating to Electrical/Instrumentation.

Location: Liberal, Kansas

Pay: 22-25/hour

Duration: Direct - Long Term
