Informatics Specialist

Status: Open Department: Healthcare Informatics Purpose: Support organizational decision-making by turning health care operations data into concise and actionable information.

Responsibilities:
Play an active role in all phases of company information reporting including internal client needs assessment, project design, data analysis, extensive SQL programming, report development and presentation of results Extensive use of Cognos ReportNet Emphasis on development and modification of reports analyzing and interpreting clinical, utilization, and quality data elements. Assists with project analysis specifications by studying request, customer requirements and performance standards. Develop and maintain technical specifications and end-user documentation of assigned projects and analyses.

Job Requirements



Healthcare / Managed Care industry reporting and analysis experience; two years preferred. At least two years of SQL experience developing complex queries involving multiple tables, deeply nested sub-queries, temporary tables and multi-layered filtering methods. Experience analyzing healthcare claims data preferred. Excellent Windows-based computer skills required. Cognos ReportNet experience strongly preferred. Proficiency in reporting packages such as Crystal Reports or Cognos Impromptu preferred. Excellent technical, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills required. Must demonstrate ability to learn new things, to be flexible and to function in an environment where requirements change frequently.

Education:
BA or BS or equivalent experience required.
