Hyperbaric Wound Technician

Shift: 1st ShiftSummary: The Comprehensive Wound Healing Center at Blue Ridge HealthCare is growing! The Hyperbaric Technician will Provide routine and emergency hyperbaric treatments under the supervision of an RN or physician. Obtains vital signs, participates in performing ordered basic wound care. Collects data from patients, family, physician, and clinical records and reports pertinent information to Staff RN. Assumes lead role related to higher skilled duties related to hyperbaric oxygen therapy and transcutaneous partial pressure of oxygen assessment. Assists with basic wound care during down time. Performs other duties as deemed competent.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: High school graduate or equivalent is required. EXPERIENCE: Six months of wound care/hospital experience is highly preferred. LICENSE/REGISTRATION: BLS certification is required. Hyperbaric Technologist certification is required. Current license or certification is required in one of the following areas: 1. National Board of Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist 2. Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician 3. Respiratory Therapy Technician 4. Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) 5. Registered Nurse 6. Emergency Medical Technician 7. Certified Hyperbaric Technologist OTHER: Must be able to work well with others as part of a team. Must be able to multi-task. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires full range of body motion, including handling/lifting patients, manual/finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires corrected vision/hearing to normal range. Requires standing/walking for extensive periods of time with bending, stooping/stretching. Frequently lift/carry patients and/or items weighing 50 lbs or more. Home Health staff must possess the ability to access non-handicapped equipped patient residences.
