Health/Medical Writer

This person will write consumer friendly articles on medical and scientific updates in cancer medicine at CTCA Midwestern Regional Medical Center. The incumbent will also write consumer friendly articles on the work of the Office of Research, including information on multiple clinical trials being done at CTCA-MRMC, discussions on new treatment innovations, and updates for CTCA’s website. This role includes transforming technical information from medical literature into information that can benefit and enlighten CTCA’s prospects, patients, and their families. This person will also work closely with the research staff CTCA-wide to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the mission and vision of CTCA and will effectively communicate that to the public. The incumbent will regularly review the current medical literature looking for information that will benefit our patients, prospects, and their families. May lead and direct the activities of a team, depending upon project specifications, and some degree of creativity and latitude is expected. The position works under minimal supervision, with the capability to exercise independent judgment.



Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in the sciences is required, MS, MPH, PhD preferred, with strong knowledge of medicine and/or the sciences. The qualified candidate must demonstrate outstanding writing skills and be knowledgeable or show heightened interest in cancer medicine. Incumbent must be able to work in a team environment, be detail-oriented and highly organized, able to follow regulations, work without supervision, and have strong interpersonal and communication skills. Must be able to coordinate and track multiple activities, and meet precise deadlines. Five years experience in development, communications, and grant writing for healthcare organizations preferred.
