Group Lead I - 2nd Shift

Position Overview:
In this pivotal role on our Manufacturing team you will work collaboratively with Sr. Group Leaders and Production Planning to determine staff requirements and prioritize work to ensure that customer deliveries are achieved and production plans are effectively executed.

Key Responsibilities:
As a motivated and energetic leader you have demonstrated solid leadership skills and hands-on capability. As the Group Leader, you will take the lead and give direction to a group of operators as well as organize and prioritize work schedules, assign tasks, and schedule overtime. Your role will involve monitoring work orders & shortages to ensure that the flow of work is expedited. You will play a crucial role in monitoring workstation set-ups and material resources for the operators. You are responsible and accountable for shift quality, and coordination of data collections, such as First Pass Yield reports.

Your ability to effectively interact with a variety of supervisors will aid you in providing feedback on skill levels and training needs for manufacturing operators. You will play a pivotal role in training employees on proper procedures, operations of tools and equipment and standards of performance, safety, and assembly. Your willingness and ability to develop employees will aid you in establishing standards and achieving objectives with direct reports. You’re supportive and collaborative approach will foster professional cross-training activities and personnel development initiatives. You will assist your Sr. Group Leader with employee appraisals, make recommendations for personnel actions, and ensure an equal opportunity environment.

AS degree in a technical field is highly desirable, or in the process of obtaining higher levels of skill thru continued education, along with three years of manufacturing experience. Experience in a Lean Six Sigma improvements and 5S environment is also highly desirable. You must have had successful leadership responsibility in a production environment with electro-mechanical assembly while working with a diverse group of individuals. As the ideal candidate you have solid verbal & written communication skills, excellent computer skills and a strong ability to understand documentation to support quality improvement objectives. Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs and work in various positions; standing, sitting, bending, and work on repetitive jobs/assemblies. Must be willing to work overtime on short notice.
