Group Home Manager

WE HAVE RESTRUCTURED OUR HOME MANAGER POSITIONS. Our home managers now oversee 1-2 supported living homes.

Hattie Larlham Community Services provides community homes to adults with mental retardation/developmental disabilities (MR/DD). These homes provide adults a skill-appropriate setting in which to participate in household duties while interacting in their neighborhood and community. Medical, therapeutic, and behavioral health services are obtained from providers within the community they live.

The Home Manager is responsible for the day to day management of 1-2 supported living homes in the Akron area. Duties include doctors appointments, grocery shopping, scheduling of homes, documentation, time sheets, etc.

Supervision, training and development of the direct care staff.

Must be able to step in and provide direct care, which includes but not limited to the areas of: personal hygiene and self-care, learning, recreation and leisure, socialization, home maintenance and others. Administers medication. Must complete delegated nursing training and maintain certification

The Home Manager is to work at least 40 hours per week. Hours should be flexible to meet the individuals needs and provide effective program monitoring. Will be required to transport individuals and must have an operational vehicle. May work with individuals with severe behavior disorders. Will work with both handicapped males and females. The manager will be on call 24 hours per day.

REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of one year managment/supervisory experience.

Minimum of one year direct care experience working with individuals with mental retardation developmental disabilities.

Must have a valid Ohio drivers license with 4 points or less and proof of insurance

Must be able to lift 60 pounds unassisted.

Minimum of a High school diploma/GED
