Front Desk Coordinator

Front Desk Coordinator Physiotherapy, one of the nation’s largest and fastest growing Ankeny, IA office.

The Front Desk Coordinator is the initial point of contact with patients and is the clerical support person for the office staff. This position is the liaison between clinic staff and patients and is responsible for being able to effectively and professionally communicate company policies, procedures and insurance information. The position is responsible for following all compliance, Medicare and HIPPA policies. This position requires some evening hours, 10-20 hours a week.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

1.Answers phones, takes and relays messages in a professional and timely manner.

2.Schedules patients for services to assure their treatment goals are met. Calls and reminds patients of appointment times as necessary to assure appointments are kept. Assures missed appointments are rescheduled.

3.Communicates with patients clearly explaining the clinic’s practices for insurance, co-payments, and scheduling appointments.

4.Calls insurance companies before each patient’s first visit to verify their insurance coverage. Communicates with patients to explain what will or will not be covered.

5.Meets with patients on their first visit to assure all necessary paperwork is completed before treatment begins.

6.Collects patients’ co-payment each office visit. Reminds patients as necessary the clinic’s policy that requires co-payments be paid each visit.

7.Performs other office support work for staff as needed.

8.Assures compliance with Federal/Medicare guidelines and company compliance policies.

Physiotherapy Associates owns/operates over 500 outpatient clinics nationwide. We provide physical, occupational and speech therapy services to patients recovering from orthopedic, sports related, and neurological illness and injury. We are in the midst of a tremendous growth period and need qualified Front Desk Coordinators!

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: High School Diploma or GED required; Associates Degree preferred

EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED: Two years previous experience in a medical office, customer service, or other related business where strong communication, organization, and follow-through skills were required.

SKILLS/ABILITIES:
oAbility to communicate effectively and professionally with a wide variety of people
oStrong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
oBasic computer skills
oAbility to handle multiple tasks in a very busy environment

1.Collection of patients’ co-payments, deductibles, etc.
2.Accurate patient scheduling
3.Thoroughness, accuracy, volume, and follow-through of responsibilities
4.Accurate data entry
