Foster Care Social Worker
Bienvenidos Children's Center, Inc., (BCC) is a state licensed nonprofit community-based organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for vulnerable children and families by delivering services that are comprehensive, culturally responsive and effective models of prevention and intervention.
Under the guidance of the agency’s Regional Office Supervisor (ROS), this position functions as a member of the Foster Family Agency team and serves the agency by supervising and coordinating services for the children placed in certified foster homes, recruiting, evaluating and re-certifying foster homes, providing and arranging training for foster parents, and acting as a liaison with other agencies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Consultation and coordination with assigned County Social Worker (CSW) from Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) regarding treatment plan;
2. Provide Case Management services to children placed in foster homes certified by the Bienvenidos Foster Family Agency, develop written treatment plans for the child during the initial 30 days of placement, quarterly thereafter, and a final termination summary;
3. Monitor and ensure appropriate standards of care provided by Foster Parents to foster children placed by Bienvenidos;
4. Oversee and/or assist Foster Parents to provide adequate medical care and support services for children placed in their home;
5. Consultation with Foster Parents and children regarding behavioral and psychosocial adaptation;
6. Consult with supportive service providers, such as medical and psychiatric professionals, educational instructors, baby-sitters;
7. Maintain current, timely and complete documentation for file records, i.e., contact notes detailing visits to the foster home, quarterly reports of the child's developmental growth and experience in foster care, medical and academic progress, and visitation and reunification outcomes with the birth family;
8. Accurate and timely documentation and reporting of suspected child abuse and neglect as per BFFA policy and state mandates;
9. Compliance with the Title 22 regulations and agency policies;
10. Responsible for managing the after hour emergency pager on a rotational basis throughout the year;
11. Perform other duties as deemed necessary for the fulfillment of the program requirements.
REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required: Evidence of Master's Degree in social work, social welfare, marriage, family and child counseling, child psychology, child development, counseling psychology or social psychology or a B.A. in Social Work or a related field and 2 years of case management experience. B.A. degree requires an exception granted by CCL. Work experience in related field. Class 3 Driver's License, automobile, and auto liability insurance coverage.
