Experienced Ortho Assistant

maintaining their dental knowledge and skills.Under general supervision, an Orthodontic Assistant provides patient care and assists the Orthodontist with various orthodontic treatment procedures in accordance with guidelines approved and issued by regulatory agencies.Greets and prepares patients for treatment. Records treatment information, medical and dental histories and vital signs of patient.
Expose and mounts dental diagnostic x-rays.
Removes arch wires and ligature ties, checks for loose bands, takes intra oral measurements and removes and places and removes elastic orthodontic separators.
Examines orthodontic appliances, cures orthodontic materials and provides orthodontic equipment use instructions.
Pours, trims, and polishes study casts, fabricates custom impression trays from preliminary impressions, cleans and polishes removable appliances, and fabricates temporary restorations.
Assist the orthodontist during examinations and treatment procedures.
Conducts work in compliance with office policies and procedures, safety, OSHA and MSDS guidelines.
Provides post-treatment instructions prescribed by Orthodontist.
Sterilizes and disinfects instruments and equipment.
Prepares treatment rooms, instruments and tray setups for orthodontic procedures.
Provides a high level of patient service.
Actively participates in the achievement of patient satisfaction and office production goals.
