Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts or an Associate’s degree and two years experience in a social services or healthcare organization or a high school diploma and four years experience in a social services or healthcare organization or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.SKILLS REQUIRED: CUSTOMER SERVICE, CASH HANDLING, HOSPITAL/HEALTHCARE EXPERIENCE, MEDICAL KNOWLEDGE (GENERAL), BILINGUAL- ENGLISH/SPANISH, ANALYTICAL SKILLS, MS WORD, DIRECT PATIENT/FAMILY INTERACTION, COMPUTER KNOWLEDGE
MEDICAID ELIGIBILITY
Full-time, Days, Weekends, Rotating, 40hrs/week
This position reports to the Medical Assistance Counseling Supervisor and will be responsible for conduction interviews with patients and family members and assisting patients in applying for N.C. Medicaid coverage. The position will also assist patients with appealing any decisions for denial of coverage as warranted. Additional responsibilities include assisting patient with questions regarding outstanding accounts, establishing payment plans for patients and collecting payments on outstanding accounts. Previous healthcare experience is required. On-the-job training will be provided as it relates to understanding the eligibility qualifications for various Medicaid programs. The successful applicant will be able to work days , weekends and rotating shifts.SKILLS REQUIRED
