Director of Womens Services Patient Care

DIRECTOR OF WOMEN'S SERVICES-PATIENT CARE

Assumes responsibility for 24 hours a day/7 days a week basis for planning and managing comprehensive operations of Women's Services department-Patient Care Services.

IMC and partial Float, ensuring compliance with philosophy, policies and procedures of Patient Care Services

ADVANCE PRACTICE
•Develops, coordinates and reviews comprehensive care plans for patients with complex health problems
•Participates in development of patient care standards and policies

MOVEMENT OF OBJECTS
•Lifting: Raising or lowering an object from one level to another (includes upward pulling)
•Carrying: Transporting an object, usually holding it in the hands or arms or on the shoulder
•Lifting 10 lbs. maximum and occasionally lifting and/or carrying such articles as dockets, ledgers and small tools

JOINT COMMISSION REQUIREMENT
•Job has direct care for Neonatal, Infant, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult and Geriatric patients
•Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skill necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on their assigned unit.
•Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to their age-specific needs, and provide care
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Master's Preferred

· 3 years Clinical Nursing

· 2 years Supervisory

· Eligible for an Alabama license

· Knowledge of computer terminals / personal computers
•Manages unit operations to budget

Maintains appropriate human, material, technological and financial resources necessary for provision of patient care

Certifications:
NRP
ACLS
BTLS-preferred and should obtain within 6 months of hire

•Infection Control
•JCAHO
•OSHA
•CDC
