Southside Hospital is in Suffolk County located in the town of Bay Shore, New York. It is considered a community hospital, yet our 377- bed facility provides an extensive range of specialty services. This includes Level II Trauma Center and ICU, Acute Respiratory Unit, Telemetry, Cardiology, Radiation Oncology Center, Vascular Institute, Maternal-Child Center , Acute Rehab and Medical/Surgical Units

REQUIREMENTS


Requirements -Bachelor's degree with emphasis in HIM or related field, RHIA or RHIT certification. Master's preferred. Minimum of three years as Director or Assistant Director of HIM Department. Highly developed verbal and written communication skills are necesssary. Must be capable of gathering data and making decisions appropriate to the organization's needs. Must be high motivated and self-directed.



Plan, organize and manage activities of HIM, Medical Staff and Medical Library.

Responsibilities include quality assurance, JCAHO, DOH and PRO activities, prepare department budget and maintain statistics required for internal and external use. Through knowledge of medical records, legal and regulatory agency requirements, excellent computer skills, coding background required.
