Director of Health Information Mangement

Meets departmental goals and objectives by developing and implementing systems to allow for department functions within the budgeted guidelines. Prepares and conducts Health Information Systems Committee information four times per year. Functions as the Meditech Ad-Hoc report writer for Meditech reports. Functions as a HIPAA privacy manager. Assists the Cancer Registry in case-finding and the ACOS certification process.

Functions as the JCAHO liaison. Assists Medical Staff Services in peer chart reviews and monthly medical staff statistics. Performs quarterly medical record reviews for JCAHO compliance and documentation improvement purposes. Performs day-to-day operational duties such as payroll, ordering supplies, policy and procedure development, release of information issues and employee evaluations within the provision of HIM services.
REQUIREMENTS
Requires BS in Health Information Administration with current RHIA certification required. Three to Five years management experience working in a health information managment department in an acute care facilitiy of similar bed capacity. Must have functional knowledge of HIM computer applications and word processing software
