Director of Critical Care

This position reports directly to the Chief Nursing Officer; and has overall accountability for a recently remodeled 12-bed ICU, a 16-bed CCU, a 22-bed cardiovascular step-down unit, and respiratory therapy services. Supervises two managers: Respiratory Therapy and Cardiovascular Services; with the potential to supervise a third. Primary duties will include budgeting, equipment procurement, physician relations, human resource management, committee involvement, and staff education and development. Qualified Candidates will be a bachelor’s prepared nurse; with three to five years of leadership experience in an acute-care organization of similar size and complexity. This individual will have strong clinical skills, a proven ability to mentor the staff, the ability to function as a cultural change agent, and the capability to communicate effectively the mission and goals of the hospital. Ideal candidates will be master’s prepared; be comfortable with and motivated by stretch goals, politically savvy with strong physician relationship skills, as well as proven major project management abilities. An excellent salary, commensurate with background and experience is available, in addition to relocation assistance.
