Director of Critical Care
This position reports directly to the Chief Nursing Officer; and has overall accountability for a recently remodeled 12-bed ICU, a 16-bed CCU, a 22-bed cardiovascular step-down unit, and respiratory therapy services. Supervises two managers: Respiratory Therapy and Cardiovascular Services; with the potential to supervise a third. Primary duties will include budgeting, equipment procurement, physician relations, human resource management, committee involvement, and staff education and development. Qualified Candidates will be a bachelor’s prepared nurse; with three to five years of leadership experience in an acute-care organization of similar size and complexity. This individual will have strong clinical skills, a proven ability to mentor the staff, the ability to function as a cultural change agent, and the capability to communicate effectively the mission and goals of the hospital. Ideal candidates will be master’s prepared; be comfortable with and motivated by stretch goals, politically savvy with strong physician relationship skills, as well as proven major project management abilities.
