Director Progression Unit-New 16 Bed Orthopedic Rehab Unit

Welcome to Genesis HealthCare! We're setting the standard for clinical excellence and responsiveness in meeting the unique needs of every resident and patient in our care. We're focused on becoming the recognized leader in clinical quality and customer satisfaction in every market we serve.Brightwood Center is a 110 nursing facility offering sub-acute and long term care, and opening a NEW high end orthopedic rehabilitation unit Fall 2006. Will be responsible for managing and marketing this 16 bed unit.Equipped with all private rooms; state-of-the-art equipment; holistic approach to recovery; restaurant style dining; low nurse to patient ratioWorks collaboratively with the Short Stay regional team and Center Management Team to design, implement, and evaluate short stay programs. Acts as both an administrative and clinical leader to promote mission, philosophy and high standards of care for the short stay population.1. Ensure that patient admission and discharge criteria are met.2. Ensure residents receive all appropriate program components.3. Coordinate the development of and adherence to program protocols and standards.4. Promotes interdisciplinary functioning for the short stay programs.5. Facilitates and provides patient and family education.6. Provides, approves and maintains resources for patient education.7. Tracks and analysis outcomes for performance improvement.8. Develops and implements yearly program marketing plan.9. Oversees program performance improvement.10. In collaboration with regional and local marketing staff, markets program by serving as liaison to community, physicians and other health care facilities.11. Participates in program budget development and fiscal performance review.12. Facilitates and provides staff education.13. Interviews and makes recommendations for hiring and termination of all staff working with the program.14. Participates in probationary and annual evaluation of all program personnel.15. Collaborates with clinical departments to ensure that clinical staff skill and competency is maintained to meet program goals.16. Is responsible for overall customer satisfaction with program and promptly mobilizes resources to resolve customer concerns.17. Participates in center customer at risk meetings and process.18. Participates in center quality improvement activities.19. Regular communication concerning program functions with DON and administrator and other appropriate staff.20. Attends regional program director development activities.21. Performs other duties as assigned.Job Requirements
RN preferred, but not required. Graduate of an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in nursing, rehabilitation, Gerontology or other related field.Must have strong customer service skills.Three years direct experience in short stay or rehabilitative care.Two years of supervisory experience in an appropriate healthcare setting or approval by the Administrator and Director of clinical Services.
