Director, Ambulatory Care Network Development


The Director of Ambulatory Care Network Development, working in conjunction with the Vice President Managed Care and Planning, will facilitate the development of an ambulatory care network to strengthen the position of the West Penn Allegheny Health System in key markets. The Director will oversee the development of new ambulatory care sites and the establishment of ambulatory and ancillary business units to provide convenient outpatient care to WPAHS patients. The Director will work closely with other WPAHS executives and physicians to develop supportive partnerships that align health system and physician goals and objectives.

West Penn Allegheny Health System is comprised of six hospital facilities (two tertiary teaching hospitals and four community hospitals), a research institute, and primary care and specialty physician networks located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

. Support the Vice President in development of the ambulatory network strategy and in obtaining approval for the development of ambulatory sites.

. Establish the Health Care System's distributed network of ambulatory care sites.

. Oversee the development of comprehensive business plans supporting development of individual sites.

. Identify and recommend approval of primary site developers, negotiate contract terms, work with developer to assess occupancy opportunities, and oversee design and construction and/or build out of ambulatory sites.

. Represent the Health System in joint venture partnerships and serve as the primary interface/resource to facilitate ambulatory joint ventures.

. Negotiate lease terms and oversee start-up of ancillary businesses and joint ventures.

. Analyze and make recommendations for acquisition of ambulatory business.

REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications and Experience

. Masters degree in Healthcare Administration or Business with a strong financial background.

. At least three years successful experience in developing and managing ambulatory healthcare sites.

. Outstanding leadership, organizational, presentation, communication, and facilitation skills.

. Creativity along with highly effective analytical, problem-solving, follow-through, and project management skills.

. Strong customer focus, interpersonal skills, and the ability to form productive and cooperative relationships with executives and medical staff.

. Knowledge of the Pittsburgh market is a plus.
