ARC of Rockland is a recognized leader in the Human Services field, serving Rockland County NY, providing a variety of services to people with developmental disabilities and their families. Our programs are staffed by dedicated and caring individuals including licensed professionals and skilled, motivated direct care and support staff from culturally diverse backgrounds.

About the Opportunity:

Do you have a genuine desire to play a key role in the life of another person who would benefit through daily interaction with you? Are you interested in contributing to another’s growth by not only aiding them in daily life tasks BUT by sharing yourself as well as your hobbies and interests (i.e. music, dance , cooking, martial arts) with them!!??

We are currently seeking, and will train, high energy, creative, motivated individuals who are self starters and have a real interest in working with individuals diagnosed with a developmental disability to work as Day Habilitation support professionals.

Our Program Support staff work with individuals or small groups of developmentally disabled individuals in a community or classroom setting. They assist teachers and other support staff in teaching functional life skills and independent living, social, direct care and pre-vocational skills to our consumers. They enrich our consumers’ lives by also sharing their individual interests and talents with our consumers!
REQUIREMENTS
Experience and Required Skills:

High School diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience working with developmentally disabled population is a plus! Applicants must have a valid New York State driver’s license for at least three years.
