Diagnostic/CT Technologist

Shft: DaysJob Description:Sat and Sun, 7a-7p
Prepares room, equipment, contrast media and supplies necessary for each procedure. Provides an explanation of procedures and assumes care for physical/psychological needs of the patient while in radiology. Obtains clinical information and indication for all diagnostic and CT scans. Completes appropriate patient history/clinical data sheets as indicated by policy.
Performs diagnostic and CT services:
Operates fixed and mobile diagnostic and CT imaging equipment.
Operates other equipment/accessory devices as necessary.
Positions patient and immobilizes patient when necessary.
Modifies routine procedures and factors as required by patient condition.
Processes radiographic films, prints scans utilizing laser images, and insures proper identification and data are present.
Evaluates scan for technical quality.
Practices aseptic technique and infection control principles as necessary.
Assists with administration of contrast media.
Performs venipuncture and administers contrast media under direction of physician.
Performs QC function of all images prior to submitting to PACS, as necessary.
Assures patient and film tracking and correct exam is completed
Assumes responsibility for assigned area:
Maintains patient flow through optimum utilization of time and resources.
Performs necessary equipment calibration and adjustments.
Provides a clean and safe environment environment.
Maintains stock supplies and emergency drugs.
Reports equipment malfunctions.
Schedules procedures as necessary.Experience: 1-2 years as a registered technologist, preferredEducation/Licensure: Graduate of AMA approved program in Radiologic Technology or equivalent. A current Nebraska Medical Radiographer License or Iowa Diagnostic Radiographer permit required, license or permit must be held in the state you provide services.
Certification in radiography ARRT-R from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Must possess a strong knowledge of human structure & function, radiographic positioning, seection of exposure factors, and cross sectional anatomy, and preparation & administration of contrast media for diagnostic and CT procedures. Proven ability to handle job related stress, must be able to handle multiple tasks at one time. Possess effective written and oral communication skills, manual dexterity, reading skills, team building skills and be people orientated.
