Department Director - Rehabilitation

The Inpatient Care Division at Borgess Medical Center is seeking a Department Director for our 15 bed Rehabilitation unit. This position reports to the Division Director and is responsible for the directing, planning and operation of the department on a 24 hour basis. Incumbent is responsible for achieving goals related to patient satisfaction, employee engagement and quality within budgetary guidelines. Direct reports to this position include Assistant Department Director, Unit Based Educator and Staff RN’s.
REQUIREMENTS
Current Michigan RN Licensure required.
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or health related field required. Master’s Degree required or initiated within 1 year with required completion in 5 years.
A minimum of 5 years of current clinical experience in a comparable setting for defined department with progressive management and leadership experience required.
Demonstrate skills in problem solving; planning and setting priorities, and addressing complex issues for a defined department(s) to achieve expectations.
Communication and Interpersonal skills required; must be able to address customer/staff issues utilizing basic concepts of relationships centered care.
Demonstrates effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to anticipate and respond effectively to changes in direction and principles.
