Dental Officer (Prosthodontist)

The BUREAU OF MEDICINE AND SURGERY is filling a CIVILIAN Prosthodontist position in Newport, RI. Newport is the beautiful city by the sea! You don't have to join the military to provide dental care to the men and women (including their families) who serve and protect our nation. Focus on patients, not insurance paperwork. Become a valued member of the world's largest group practice in the fabrication of crowns, bridges, complete and removable partial dentures, and restoration of dental implants. Take advantage of the opportunity to collaborate with other dental specialists in all phases of planning and treatment, and mentor Advanced Education General Dentistry Residents. You may have to provide emergency dental treatment after normal work hours, including weekends and holidays, on a scheduled rotating basic. Most positions are filled on a permanent basis but may be filled on term or temporary basis. Temporary means employment is expected to last 1-2 years, and term means 1-4 years. Common work schedule is full time but part-time may become available.

REQUIREMENTS
DDS or DMD from a school approved by the Council on Dental Education, ADA; or other dental school provided the education/knowledge requires was substantially equivalent to that of graduates with an ADA-approved school. Be prepared to provide a photocopy of your transcript upon request at a later date. ANDYou must have a current license to practice dentistry in any U. S. state, the District of Columbia, or Puerto Rico. Again, be prepared to provide a photocopy of your license at a later date. ANDYour resume must reflect at least one year of professional dentistry experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level. Certification as a diplomate by a national certifying board for specialized area of practice meets the requirements. ANDU. S. citizenship.
