Cytology Retrospective Reviewer

The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations is an independent not-for-profit organization with the headquarters office located in Oakbrook Terrace, IL. We evaluate and accredit nearly 15,000 healthcare organizations and programs in the United States.

We are looking for Cytologists or Cytotechnologists to participate in surveys on an as needed basis several times a year. You will survey through an on-site evaluation of cytology testing when an investigation of cytology performance is required. Lead role in retrospective review of cytology testing in Joint Commission accredited laboratories. Determine the degree of compliance with applicable standards, law and regulation. Conduct an evaluation of cytology services that meet laboratory accreditation criteria. Review and evaluate pre-survey information; research, collect, organize, and interpret information from multiple sources. Interview physicians and analyze documents such as performance data.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree, Master's preferred, with current certification as a Cytotechnologist. Currently enrolled and participates in a CMS approved proficiency testing program for GYN cytology, either independently or with another employer. Current professional licensure, when required by law, with no history of disciplinary action.Knowledge of automated gynecologic liquid-based methods and screening instruments.

Need to be available to travel nationwide to survey several times per year, as needed.
