Introduction: The GLG Councils (www.glgcouncils.com) are global networks of executives, physicians, scientists, engineers, attorneys, and other professionals who deliver expertise and decision-making assistance to business, government and investment leaders from around the world. The Council Manager – Hardware and Semiconductors will lead a global team of professionals accountable for the recruitment, management and marketing of Gerson Lehrman Group’s Hardware and Semi’s Council. Council development in Hardware includes population development and management in four core areas: Hardware OEM’s, Consumer Electronics, Fab and Fabless Semiconductor firms and EMS firms.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
Recruit new Council Members into the Gerson Lehrman Group Hardware & Semi’s Council:
Interact with GLG Research Managers to gauge customer needs.
Identify experts with pertinent insights for Gerson Lehrman Group’s clients in the hardware industry.
Develop personal relationships with key industry executives, influencers and thought leaders, while engaging them in productive research activities. (www.glgcouncils.com/memberprograms)
Develop the GLG Councils through telephone, email and marketing campaigns.
Manage partnerships with global associations and market research firms.
Manage and organize the global membership of the Hardware & Semiconductor Council, using Gerson Lehrman Group’s proprietary technology:
Maintain a deep understanding of the Hardware industry to leverage the GLG Councils effectively
Apply knowledge of the Hardware & Semi industries, emerging trends and client activity, identify strategic population needs for clients
Educate internal staff about trends in the hardware and semiconductor industries
Work closely with Council Management teams in Gurgaon, India and Shanghai, China and Research Management teams in Asia (Hong Kong), Europe (London) and North America (Boston, New York, San Francisco) to facilitate ongoing development and effective deployment of the Hardware and Semis Council.
Contribute to the development and continued evolution of GLG’s Hardware & Semiconductor Council’s interactive product portfolio, including:
Regular small-group meetings between GLG clients and Council Members
Education Seminars (www.glginstitute.com)
Domestic and international research trips to relevant regions
Proprietary Surveys
GLG News (www.glgnews.com)

REQUIREMENTS
Educational and Professional:
Bachelor's degree with a GPA of 3.3 or higher from a top tier school
3-5 years of successful experience in the Hardware, Semiconductor or Consumer Electronics industry
Demonstrated mature understanding of business issues facing companies and employees related to Hardware & Semiconductors
Experience with or knowledge of the financial services and/or financial research industry
Favored applicants will have:
Passion for the Hardware & Semi industry and technology
Demonstrated ability to create and develop working relationships with senior professionals in the field
Demonstrated superior organizational skills and entrepreneurial drive to create a business opportunity
Knowledge of a foreign language
Proven ability to work in a rigorous, fast-moving work environment

Evaluation, Compensation and Benefits: Following is an initial estimate of compensation and benefits for this position. The final compensation structure depends on many factors and these numbers are subject to change.
Salary: Competitive base salary plus year-end performance-based discretionary bonus
Healthcare: United Health plan and Metlife Dental Insurance
Vacation: 15 days per year plus NYSE holidays
