Shft: DaysJob Description:Coordinates all clinical and clerical staff working for Alegent Health Occupational Health Services to ensure proper operation within the department. Participates in staff selection evaluation and scheduling as necessary. Develops and maintains knowledge and expertise in OSHA and State Health Department regulations as related to Occupational Health. Maintains knowledge of Workers¿ Compensation laws. Is familiar with client needs and contracted services. Monitors the health of workers who are referred to OHS by employers as well as Alegent Health employees. Proficient and certified in testing procedures necessary for the department to meet customers needs. Utilize nursing skills to assess the health of workers who are referred to OHS by their employers to include all Alegent Health employees. Performs testing procedures and initiates appropriate interventions and referrals. Assesses and recognizes symptoms of acute illness and refers for appropriate treatment. Assesses physical and emotional needs of employees and intervenes appropriately.Experience: Three to five years Occupational Health experienceEducation/Licensure: Required RN license and current valid drivers license. Preferred BSN, Certified Occupational Health Nurse, and/or Iowa license.
Current BLS certificationKnowledge/Skills/Abilities: Supervisor skills and experience, planning, problem solving, excellent communications skills, Implement programs and policies, performance and program evaluation skills, knowledge of basic computer skills, exceptional customer service skills, excellent organization skills.
