Clinical Worker II

Provides counseling, psychotherapy and related services to individuals and families, addressing psychological, interpersonal, and developmental problems. Provides case management and account management services with MCO's and other network providers.

Perform diagnostic evaluation and assign appropriate multi-axial DSM IV classification.
Perform group, individual and family psychotherapy sessions, as required.
Perform case management for assigned cases to coordinate all aspects of the treatment plan and to advocate for needed services.
Participate in case review and other staff meetings.
Complete all reports and record as required showing consistency of treatment plan goals through assessment, initial treatment plan, staff case review, progress notes and case closing.
Complete all forms required for case processing and data gathering.
Coordinate initial and ongoing contact with medical insurance and managed care companies by calling and obtaining pre-certification authorization for treatment and required recertification for therapist and psychiatrist, after assigned consent to release information is obtained from the client.
Provides contractually required communication and, when assigned, maintains a relationship as account manager with MCO's and designated Primary Care Physicians and/or other MCO network providers.
Obtain a referral release from client and communicate by letter with the referral source acknowledging appreciation for the referral and providing appropriate treatment planning goals, when appropriate, i.e. Primary Care Physician, Probation Officer.
Conduct assessment and intake sessions, complete the write-up and present to staff at next scheduled staffing.
Make effective referrals, when required.
Supervise counseling interns, when assigned.
Offer workshops and training sessions for other staff members and other providers of service in the community.
Participate in continuing education to obtain and maintain professional certification/license.
Provide community outreach, education and consultation as directed.
Maintain a standard of 53% of available time in direct service (face-to-face) activity, adjusted when caseload is concentrated with more time-consuming cases. This includes psychotherapy groups, psycho-education sessions, individual and family counseling, intakes, assessments and psychosocial evaluations.
Participate in supervision with Clinical Supervisor.
Participate in on-call 24 hour emergency services on rotation with other Master's level clinicians.
Serve on the C.Q.I. committee, when assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Master's degree in Behavioral Health Care Discipline recognized for licensing by the State of Delaware and/or Maryland.
License required.
Good interpersonal skills
Knowledge of and experience with mental health treatment. At least twoo years post master's degree experience.
