Clinical Scheduling Coordinator

Responsibilities: This position will be responsible for clinical scheduling functions and assisting with the coordination of clinical services provided in support of UNTHSC's Comprehensive Medical Services contracts with the Federal Bureau of Prisons, Department of Veterans Affairs and other contracts assigned to the Department.
1. Coordinate and confirm daily scheduling of all off-site medical services and on-site clinics services via electronic transmissions (i.e., e-mails, MicroSoft Excel) with BOP and other COBD contract customers.
2. Develop and/or enhance clinical scheduling policies and procedures to meet clinical needs of the BOP and other COBD contract customers.
3. Maintain current list of all UNTHSC Network Providers to facilitate the scheduling of contracts services including Points of Contact, telephone numbers, fax numbers, and e-mail addresses.
4. Assist COBD staff in scheduling physicians for COBD's After-Hours Physician Program at designated BOP facilities.
5. Provide on-site support at designated BOP facilities, as necessary, to coordinate the scheduling and assist with the oversight of clinical services provided under the respective BOP contract.
6. Perform all other duties as necessary to support the missions and goals of COBD and UNTPG. Provide back-up coverage for Department staff, as requested.
REQUIREMENTS
Requirements: A current Texas LVN License and two years clinical office/scheduling experience are required. A valid Texas Driver's License is required. Experience in scheduling health care services for correctional facilities is preferred.
