ResponsibilitiesThe Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) is an advanced nurse practitioner who demonstrates expert clinical knowledge and skill in a specialty area. As an expert in a specialty area, the CNS assesses, evaluates, and recommends Standards of Care as it relates to the patient and family along the health care continuum. She/he acts as a consultant to all members of the Health Care Team. Current New York State registration to practice nursing. Masters in Nursing required. Minimum of 5 years experience in clinical nursing practice related to specialty area. Certification in clinical specialty by professional organization preferred
Additional ResponsibilityClinical Nurse Specialist for the Surgical Intensive Care departments at the Weill Cornell location. Will cover the Surgical ICU, NeuroScience ICU, and Burn ICU. Surgical critical care experience in a large teaching hospital is required.
