Clinical Nurse Specialist-Critical Care (SGH)

Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento has two acute care hospital campuses, Sutter General and Sutter Memorial, and has provided healthcare to residents of Sacramento since 1923. Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento also includes Sutter Center for Psychiatry, providing psychiatric, mental health and chemical dependency services since 1958.With 772 licensed beds, Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento is not for profit and fully accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) is a resource to staff, management and other health team members regarding nursing care practice for a specific patient and, or client population.
REQUIREMENTS
Registered Nurse, Master's Degree in Nursing, CA Clinical Nurse Certificate (clinical educational focus preferred) and a license to practice professional nursing in the State of California. Course work in CNS role desired. Prior working experience in the particular area of specialty is required. Prior experience demonstrating the ability to work with a minimum of supervision and effective interpersonal nursing leadership skills. Broad base of knowledge for specialty area. Must be able to integrate information about all systems, but specifically for area of specialty. Must be able to prepare the present classes meeting needs of audience and adhering to BRN requirements. Knowledgeable regarding program development, implementation and evaluation. Able to interpret and conduct clinical research. Capable of journal article publication.
