Clinical Nurse Specialist, Critical Care

This position will operate within Memorial's Mission, Vision, Strategic Plan and annual goals. The CNS is accountable for questioning, investigating, developing, implementing and evaluating high quality, cost-effective patient care programs/interventions for designated high-risk, complex patient populations. Also accountable for collaborating with the health care team to define and communicate the expected patterns of care for complex patient types. Provides leadership for education and research programs to support the advancement of professional nursing practice and improvement of patient outcomes. Acts as a resource, leader and role model for professional nursing practice and functions as a liaison with the community, other health care professionals, and other disciplines regarding areas of clinical expertise.
REQUIREMENTS
Requirements for the position include:
Current licensure as an RN in the State of Illinois.
A Master's degree in nursing with a focus on specialty clinical practice.
CNS and appropriate certification in specialty required or achieved within one year of hire.
Five years experience in clinical nursing with in-depth, current knowledge and competency in specialty required.
Certification as a CPR Instructor-Trainer and ACLS Instructor preferred.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills.
Demonstrated leadership in organizational change and quality management. Evidence of continuing professional development.
