Clinical Coordinator/Team Coordinator

Sentara Healthcare is recruiting for the newly created Team Coordinator-Operations position at our 569-bed flagship teaching hospital located in Norfolk, Virginia. The hospital operates our regional Level 1 Trauma Center, nationally respected programs in Cancer, Women's Health and Urology and a brand new, state of the art free-standing Heart Hospital which is ranked among the top 25 in the nation.

This role functions like a Clinical Coordinator and will be scheduled on day shift to assist the Pharmacy Manager by providing front line management support of decentralized Clinical Pharmacists and staff in the patient care areas. (Three other newly created Team Coordinator positions are responsible for all activities on evening shift, the Central Pharmacy and the IV/Narcotics areas.) Key responsibilities for the Team Coordinator-Operations include providing leadership for daily operations, coordination of work, quality of service and team member supervision in the assigned area(s). Duties include daily coaching of staff, delivery of timely feedback, serving as a functional expert, participating in the accomplishment of daily work as a team member, troubleshooting/resolving customer service issues and team and relationship building. Other responsibilities include working with quality improvement, monitoring resource utilization, evaluating staff performance, handling disciplinary actions, preparation of budgets and daily management to insure achievement of departmental goals and objectives. The Team Coordinator will also support Pharmacy staff with IT issues, manage multiple projects and effectively prioritize staff and management tasks and perform other duties as needed.
