Certified Pathologists’ Assistant

As part of our state-of-the-art Pathology Department, you will work in collaboration with other PAs, Pathologists, and Pathology Residents to ensure the timely delivery of all test results and information. Primary responsibilities include performing gross examination and dissection of surgical specimens, assisting with intraoperative consultations, photographing specimens, and training residents. Additional responsibilities include maintaining the grossing and specimen manuals, as well as the gross pathology image archive; overseeing the morgue; and handling other special procedures, such as renal biopsy and tissue samples for research.

REQUIREMENTS
To qualify, you must have a Master’s degree from a certified PA program, current certification through the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or eligibility, excellent communication skills, familiarity with basic word-processing software, and the ability to work independently. Previous job related experience is preferred, with a background working with residents in a Pathology Department. Voice recognition software is used for dictation. Schedule: day shift with no weekend or on-call.
