Central Scheduler (9am-5:30pm)

Under the general supervision of the Manager of Registration and Telecommunication, schedule appointments, and pre-registers patients for outpatient tests. Provides information to patients, physicians, and office personnel regarding appointment scheduling and preparation for outpatient testing procedures according to established policies and procedures.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.



Schedules appointments for outpatient testing in proper sequence and notifies respective department in accordance with established departmental guidelines.



Obtains required patient information and completes necessary forms.



Logs pertinent patient related information and completes necessary forms.



Provides information and instructs patients, physician offices and ancillary departments on the preparation for outpatient procedures and answers all patient questions.



Performs pre-registration of patients in computerized information system as part of scheduling process. Obtains necessary demographic and financial information from patient.



Receives orders via fax, phone call, voice mail, IMIN, patient in person with order from the physician or order brought in from physician and/or staff.



Prepares schedules of testing time slots to be used for logging specific patient information to identify patients scheduled for specific tests on specific dates and times.



Prepares and sends to ancillary departments the scheduled outpatient lists on a daily basis.



Participates in a program of growth and continued development by participating in workshops, in services, department meetings and reading available literature as it applies to the position.



Refers issues regarding patient and physician satisfaction to supervisor.



Other duties may be assigned.

Assists supervisory staff in areas of procedure writing and problem solving.

Assists with orientation of new employees.
