Our 294-bed hospital is an acute care facility that specializes in Cardiology, Women's Services, Labor & Delivery, Childrens Services, Oncology Services, Emergency Medicine, and the treatment of Diabetes.Job Type: PRNDepartment: Cardiovascular/Cath LabCatetgory: Nursing OtherSalary: HourlyBenefits: No BenefitsJob Description:This position is required to assist with procedures in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab to include operating and troubleshooting of radiographic equipment, scrubbing, procedural hemodynamic monitoring, and positioning patients. The CVT performs in collaboration with other members of the health care delivery team, including physicians, to deliver quality patient care. This position is also cross-trained to assist with non-invasive procedures including EKG and stress testing.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Operates Radiographic Equipment, cine film processor or digital equipment.
2. Prepares or assists with patient preparation, provides instruction to patient, assists with transportation of patients.
3. Assists in procedures in capacity of scrub tech, monitoring tech or radiologic technologist.
4. Functions in all aspects of the Cardiac Cath Lab, with the exception of giving drugs.
5. Prepares equipment at the start of each day, assures quality controls are performed on each required device.
6. Assures Radiation Safety during procedures, assures staff is wearing monitoring badges, protective equipment.
7. Assists with code arrest situations during procedures, including CPR and defibrillation.
8. Assists Director with PI data collection and report generation.
9. Assists in non-invasive procedures to include EKG and stress testing.
10. Maintains professional development and license requirements.
REQUIREMENTS
BCLS certifiedREQUIRED EDUCATION:
1. Graduate of a recognized Cardiovascular Technology Program preferred.
2. Minimum of two year on-the-job training as a CV Technologist and/or registry eligible to take the RCIS examination.REQUIRED EXPERIENCE :
1. Minimum of two years experience within the Cardiac Catheterization Lab preferred.PREFERRED EDUCATION, LICENSURE, CERTIFCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
1. Knowledge of special procedures, cine angiography or digital recording, sterile technique and hemodynamic
Monitoring.
