The CardioMetabolic Sales Specialist hired for this position will be responsible for a territory that includes Binghamton, Syracuse, Utica, Elmira and the surrounding area in New York. The CardioMetabolic Sales Specialist will be responsible for maximizing Novartis product sales in an assigned therapeutic area. The Specialist is responsible for sales to cardiologists, nephrologists, endocrinologists, and diabetologists within this territory. Primary responsibilities include writing a business plan with set territory specific objectives, direct promotion of select products to assigned physicians, and surpassing assigned sales goals. Additional responsibilities include developing thought-leaders and speakers, conducting promotional programs and representing and promoting Novartis as a leader in the assigned therapeutic area. The Sales Specialist must be able to work across functions with all Novartis associates in order to facilitate a well-coordinated Novartis effort within accounts. Specialists must demonstrate strong disease state and product knowledge. The ability to develop strong professional relations is also essential in this role.Qualifications
At least two years of demonstrated successful pharmaceutical sales experience. Experience selling Cardiovascular drugs is a strong plus. Knowledge of relationships between managed care and institutions. Experience/ability to learn key products and markets in assigned therapeutic area. Bachelor's Degree (preferably in Life Sciences, Pharmacy or Business related discipline.)PREFERRED: Demonstrated ability to sell cardiovascular and diabetes products, experience working in or leading an account team, knowledge of and experience with thought leader development, and top producer over the past 2 years.
