COMMISSIONER TEXAS DEPT. OF STATE HEALTH SERVICES The Texas Health and Human Services Commission is currently recruiting candidates interested in leading the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS), one of five state agencies included in the state health and human services system. The Commissioner will ensure service delivery that provides a comprehensive array of public health, medical care, mental health and substance abuse services so that all Texans may live and work in safe, healthy communities. This position oversees programs that address prevention & treatment of mental illness and substance abuse, disease prevention & bioterrorism preparedness, family and community health services, environmental and consumer safety, regulatory services, and the state public health laboratory. Headquartered in Austin Texas. M.D./D.O. preferred. Annual salary range $106,692 to not exceed $175,000.
