Bed Control Specialist RN, Full-time (1.0)
NEW POSITION! The Bed Control Specialist RN is responsible for coordinating patient placement and bed capacity issues for designated inpatient units during specific time intervals. Utilized problem-solving and system process skills to facilitate prompt and appropriate placement of patients from various settings to inpatient beds. Interacts with physicians, staff, and customers in ways that ensure positive outcomes and promote customer satisfaction.
Current IL RN licensure and Bachelor's degree in a health-related field, minimum of three years nursing and previous patient placement experience required, with supervisory experience preferred.
Other required experience/skills include:Excellent interpersonal communication skills necessary to interact effectively with patients, staff, and physicians.Strong patient assessment and patient care skills to promote effective triage of patients awaiting bed placement.Strong critical thinking skills to reconcile imbalances between capacity and demand, with the ability to implement a large variety of solution sets.Consistently excellent customer service skills to identify and respond to customer needs.The ability to function autonomously and take initiative.Clear and effective writing skills to promote documentation and creation of plans and reports.Demonstrated commitment to teamwork.Ability to collect, applies, and report quality improvement data.The ability to use a computer for the storage and retrieval of data.Provena Health, a Catholic Health System, builds communities of healing and hope by compassionately responding to human need in the spirit of Jesus Christ.
