Assessment Specialist

Through is affiliation with Rush University Medical center, one of the premier academic healthcare institutions in the nation, Rush North Shore insures that the latest medical research and clinical techniques are available to its patients. A comprehensive range of inpatient, outpatient and ambulatory services are available through the Medical Center and the more than 650 physicians who serve on the medical staff. We currently have a part time, weekend position available. The Assessment Specialist works collaboratively with the admitting physician, psychiatric social work department, charge nurses, care management, the emergency department, central registration and finance and third party payors to appropriately and efficiently admit or refer psychiatric patients in need of treatment. Assessors are licensed mental health professionals. These responsibilities are carried out under the direction of the Coordinator of PARS.
REQUIREMENTS
- Previous experience with psychiatric patients. - Demonstrate and utilizes effective oral and written communication skills. - Ability to work collaboratively as a member of the health care team. Demonstrates strong leadership skills. - Ability to delegate appropriately to professional and non-professional staff. - Ability to function as a patient advocate. -LCSW,LCPC, R.N. with minimum of 5 yrs. Psychiatric experience.
