JOB SUMMARY: ALCOHOL & OTHER DRUG COUNSELOR - Part-Time
Provide education, group counseling, assessments, and orientation/intake services
Conduct individual case management sessions to monitor participant progress to ensure successful completion including case management and detailed record keeping
Maintain the State Title 9 California Code of Regulations, county, and Program requirements
Attend mandatory staff meetings
Other duties as assigned




















REQUIREMENTS


REQUIREMENTS:

Program staff who conduct individual or group counseling sessions, intake interviews, face to face interviews, or assessments of participants' alcohol and/other drug problems shall have a minimum of two years of experience in providing counseling services to persons with alcohol and/or other drug problems.

Program staff who conducts educational sessions shall have a minimum of two years of experience providing alcohol and/or drug education and information in-group sessions. One-year experience shall mean 1,776 total hours.

One year of college level education, which includes the satisfactory completion of at least 12 semester units or the equivalent of alcohol and drug studies, psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field, may be substituted for one year of the experience required.

Excellent written record keeping and oral communication skills.

DESIRED:

Knowledge of State DUI laws and knowledge of the Title 9 California Code of Regulations

Certified Alcoholism and Drug Counselor (CADC)

Experience working with Criminal Justice clients

Prior experience in first and multiple offenders DUI programs

Substitution for vacationing and ill CD counselors in an on-call status

Fluent both orally and in writing, in both English and Spanish
