Our Oncology Pharmaceutical Services team has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Director - CME, Medical Education at our corporate offices in Houston, TX.

SCOPE:

Coordinates and is responsible for the daily operational and logistical aspects of medical education programs. Liaise with medical education key stakeholders including education development team, accrediting partners, grantors/commercial supporters, vendors and program faculty to oversee management and delivery of programs. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Coordinate and manage all program operational, logistical activities before, during and after program completion.
Serve as point person for communication and updates to key stakeholders.
Create and manage timelines and weekly status reports.
Supervise grants/grant submissions and program budgets.
Initiate and manage development and production of all meeting and scientific materials
Coordinate review and approval process of all meeting materials; attend programs as necessary to ensure successful delivery.
Coordinate post-meeting summaries with key stakeholders, financial, vendors, faculty, attendees, and grantors.
Assist in development of grants.
Prepare and edit budget worksheets, work with key stakeholders to develop estimates.
Request and collect vendor proposals
Validate budgets against previous programs and/or outside grants; and provide information and direction to program coordinator to maintain up to date financial status and accounting.
Attend and serves as program manager for educational programs.
Maintain continuous awareness of latest trends in medical education and oncology/community-based oncology care to provide strategic and clinical direction on educational areas of importance and interest.
REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent required.Years of experience necessary for each level.level I - Entry level to three years experience in a pharmacy.level II - Minimum three to five years experience in a pharmacy with I.V. skills. I.V. certification preferred. Certified Pharmacy Technician certificate or State Pharmacy Board requirement recommended.level III - Minimum five to seven years experience in a pharmacy with I.V. skills. Oncology background preferred or extensive I.V. preparation experience. I.V. certification preferred. Certified Pharmacy Technician certificate or State Pharmacy Board requirement recommended. Completion of an ASHP accredited program or community college based program recommended.


SCOPE:

Under direct supervision of a physician working within a clinic admixture room, performs the technical, nonjudgemental aspects of medication preparation, distribution, record keeping and inventory control. Tasks are subject to sequential or final verification by a registered nurse or a registered pharmacist. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Assists with the preparation of medication orders by compounding or admixing medications under supervision of a physician.
Checks all orders for completeness of information. Verifies patient information and proper physician authorization.
Under direct supervision, admixes drugs as ordered by physician in an accurate and timely manner as per department guidelines, and preparing all drugs within OSHA guidelines and interoffice guidelines.
Calculates correct dosage volumes, converting between metric and apothecary equivalents.
Assists in counting controlled drugs weekly and maintain records. Properly disposes all materials used when mixing chemo or non-chemo IVs.
Assists in cleaning hoods daily checking drugs monthly for outdates and other quality assurance activities as assigned.
Assists in keeping accurate temperature logs, accurate logs on all protocol drugs and patient assistance drugs.
Maintains proper control documentation of medications including lot numbers.
Provide support with inventory control of medications. Prepares labels. Files and prepares billing. Basic data entry into department automation.
