ACUTE DIALYSIS REGISTERED NURSES

Fresenius Medical Care is the world's largest integrated provider of dialysis products and services for patients with chronic kidney failure. The Acute RN provides safe, effective delivery of patient care in compliance with standards outlined in the facility procedure manual and the hospital contract, as well as regulations set forth by the corporation, state, and federal agencies. Provides treatment technique for assigned patients as prescribed. This includes all dialysis modality procedures. Responsible for making adjustments and modifications to the dialysis treatment as indicated or prescribed by the physician. Responsible for accurate documentation of information related to patient treatment. The information is documented appropriately in the individual patient record. Reports any significant patient information to the Acute Charge Nurse or Clinical Manager. The Acute RN is familiar with all emergency operational procedures. May be assigned chronic patients on an as needed basis. Possesses the ability to safely operate all dialysis related equipment and provide minor troubleshooting of equipment when necessary. Participates in staff meetings as scheduled. Assists in patient care plan meetings if applicable. Acquires information and knowledge in the latest developments and dialysis techniques by participating in scheduled in-service classes. Performs other duties as required.


EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:
Minimum of one-year medical-surgical nursing experience preferred
Must possess six months of Hemodialysis experience
ICU experience preferred.
Successful completion of a training course in theory and practice of hemodialysis
Successful completion of CPR Certification
Employees must meet the necessary requirements of Ishihara’s Color Blindness test as a condition of employment
Ability to assist in lifting patients and equipment

EDUCATION:
Current appropriate R.N. licensure.
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
