Regional Sales Representative

NEW POSITION!

DPI Rocky Mountain, a specialty foods distributor, is currently seeking a REGIONAL SALES REPRESENTATIVE for the Kansas City area. This position provides sales and marketing support to our independent grocery retailers.

Primary Responsibilities:
•Inform customers of promotional products, obtain pre-books, price trends.
•Keep informed of new products and other general information.
•Meet or exceed established sales objectives as assigned.
•Keep records and make reports on all phases of activities as required.
•Attend all required sales meetings, food shows, and seminars.
•Meet with the retailers on a bi-weekly or monthly basis regarding new items, promotions and status of program.
•Perform store audits and review with the store manager based on items that “should” be in the store.
•Train stores on product knowledge.
•Obtain new accounts.
•Sell of overstock/short coded product.
•Assist in resets.
•Attend and assist in grand openings.
•Merchandise stores.
•Send order guides to stores.
•Act as liaison between DPI and the stores.
•Other duties may be assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Requirements:
•High School Diploma or GED.
•7 years experience in the retail grocery industry in a brokerage, distributor or food service company and proven track record in sales and account management.
•Strong initiative, interpersonal, organizational and communication skills required.
•Basic math skills and ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions is required.
•Basic computer skills.
•Dependable transportation, good driving record and proof of insurance is required. Must maintain minimum auto insurance coverage requirements in accordance with company policy.
•Ability to lift up to 50lbs on an as needed basis for performing store resets and setting up displays.
