Maintenance Team Member
Maintains a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient customer service. Supports store leadership in maintaining regional standards. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: sweeping, cleaning, polishing, and maintaining all the common and public areas of the store. Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the sales floor. 2. Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the customer and team member bathrooms. 3. Sweeping, picking up debris, cleaning up spills throughout the sales floor. 4. Regularly check the trash receptacles on the sales floor and empty as necessary. 5. Polishing the stainless steel on the sales floor on a scheduled basis. 6. Perform high dusting on a scheduled basis. 7. Clean, dust and empty trash in back offices at least once a day. 8. Answers customer questions, and become trained in practices suggestive selling. 9. Assist in keeping sample areas full, clean, and appealing. 10. Follows and complies with all applicable health and sanitation procedures and adheres to safe work practices. 11. Operates all equipment in a safe and proper manner. 12. Clear and clean tables in the café area throughout the day and bring dishes/cutlery to dishwashing area. 13. Perform other duties as assigned by Store Leadership and Supervisors. 14. Collect, consolidate and separate recycling into proper receptacles. Understand WFM’s Green Mission.
REQUIREMENTS
1. Ability to follow instructions and established procedures. 2. Knowledgeably communicate with the customer 3. Ability to understand the store’s and the customers’ needs. 4. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with other Team Members and leadership. 5. Ability to understand and properly use the cleaning products required. Physical Requirements: 1. Must be 18 years or older and work up to a maximum of 8-10 hours per day. 2. Stand and walk for extended periods of time up to 4 hours without a break. 3. Bend and stoop to grasp objects and climb ladders. 4. Bend and lift loads, not to exceed 65 pounds, unassisted. 5. Push and pull carts, weighing up to 100 pounds, unassisted. Physical Requirements (continued): 6. Ability to visually see that something needs to be cleaned or polished. 7. Demonstrated proficiency in the proper use of a dumpster, baler, box cutters, and all related equipment. Work Environment 1. Environmental exposure: temperature extremes (coolers, freezer, outdoors) 2. Work in a moderately noisy environment. 3. Work on a variety of floor surfaces including tile and concrete. Other Requirements: 1. Able to work a variety of shifts including weekends, evenings, and holidays. 2. Willingness to receive constructive feedback pertaining to job performance. 3. Willingness to provide exemplary customer service constantly and consistently. 4. Good communication skills. 5. A desire to learn about natural and organic foods and products and grow with our company. Performance Standards: 1. Provide exceptional customer service that continuously improves and grows. 2. Effectively utilizes shrink control procedures. 3. Provide ideas and suggestions that contribute to the growth of the team. 4. Carry out duties in a timely manner.
