Global Sourcing Coordinator

General Summary: The Coordinator will seek out, negotiate, purchase and facilitate transport of unique/exclusive products from around the world into US distribution channel for Whole Foods Market. 1. Travel as required (Extensively) 2. Develop international network for sourcing unique and differentiating products 3. Ensure that all quality standards, legal requirements and governmental regulations are met in relation to all products sourced 4. Communicate regularly and Coordinate directly with the Senior National Grocery Coordinator in planning and facilitating the execution of selling/merchandising of these products at retail 5. Provide necessary tools to assist Regions in preparing for and executing on the sales of these products 6. Ensure that sourced products enhance WFM uniqueness and differentiation 7. Leverage WFM scale to enhance margin performance wherever possible 8. Perform other related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
1. Proactive, positive and self-initiating attitude 2. Experience in the grocery industry as a regional buyer or category manager for a retailer or distributor. Only those applicants with buyer or category management experience will be considered. 3. Impeccable integrity 4. Intermediate level skills in Excel, Word and Internet Explorer. 5. Excellent analytical, organizational and prioritization skills 6. Bachelor’s degree and four or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in global sourcing/purchasing. 7. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. 8. Ability to deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. 9. Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. 10. Excellent communication skills including written, verbal and listening skills. 11. Ability to interact positively with national and regional team contacts 12. Current Passport 13. Ability to effectively support team and national vision 14. Foreign language skills a plus
