Dairy Specialist
Performs all functions relating to ordering and selling of Dairy product, inventory control, ensures maintenance of stock room, back room and floor. Assists Team Leader in overall department operation. Provides up-to-date, knowledgeable and courteous customer service. Perform all duties and responsibilities related to Dairy buying and sales. Set and maintain the highest merchandising standards by following regional guidelines. Request signs, place signs, audit and insure sign accuracy within department. Provide our customers with outstanding/WOW Customer Service. Implement and fully support all Regional Programs; read and follow all Regional memos and communicate pertinent information with the Team. Maintain excellently stocked and merchandised department. Maintain excellent communications with all vendors. Work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and all holidays as needed. Process invoices in a timely manner accurately. Responsible for actively working all inventories, monitoring inventory levels, and maintaining weekly purchase journal reconciliations . Stay within an open to buy budget and keep backstock clean, ordered, and to a minimum. Uphold all standards pertaining to cleanliness, Organic standards, HACCP, Steritech, Safety, and TCS programs. Train Team Members in all areas of the department to ensure consistent standards of excellence are upheld regardless of shift or day of the week. Lead by example. Perform other duties as directed. Physical Working Conditions: Lifting: maximum 50 pounds unassisted, Frequent lifting or carrying objects weighing Up to 25 pounds. In an 8-hour workday: standing/walking 6-8 hours. Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling. Cut Glove certification and use of blades for chopping and cutting. Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting, climbing, and reaching. Exposure to temperatures: < 32ºF (freezing), and 32ºF-40ºF (refrigerators). Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals.
REQUIREMENTS
Written action plan. Minimum of 2 years Dairy/Grocery Specialist experience or industry equivalent. Excellent customer service skills and standards. Excellent merchandising skills. Great organizational skills. Be solution oriented when faced with a multitude of challenges. Ability to acknowledge and learn from mistakes. Excellent communication skills. Stay current with all market conditions and information; review the competition and do comp shops on a regular basis. Willing and able to work a flexible schedule, and willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done. Ability to think outside of the box. Support Team and Team Leader.
