Workers' Compensation Claims Adjuster

The Vermont Department of Buildings and General Services has a great opportunity for a self-motivated professional to join our dynamic Workers’ Compensation team within the Risk Management Division.

The Risk Management Division plays a key role in providing services to protect the state's assets - human, physical, and financial. Some ways in which we do this is by:fostering safe workplaces and safe work habits to prevent work-related injuries and illnesses providing optimum care when injuries or illnesses do occurefficiently and effectively managing claims The Department of Buildings and General Services has over 400 employees and is a diverse department including Facilities Operations, Engineering, Purchasing, and Risk Management - to name just a few.

The Workers' Compensation Claims Adjuster will investigate and manage claims, determine eligibility for medical and financial benefits, and authorize payments for approved benefits. Work effectively as part of a medical case manager/adjuster team. Requires excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to interpret and apply complex statues and regulations, and ability to comprehend medical terminology. Incumbents must have or be eligible for Vermont Workers’ Compensation Adjuster license. Candidates with Workers’ compensation claims adjustment experience preferred.
REQUIREMENTS
Experience in Workers' Compensation or processing insurance claims. Must have or be eligible for Vermont Workers’ Compensation Adjuster license.
